Categories of membership
There shall be the following categories of membership of AFORNET
Full members are scientists' chosen on an individual basis for their
contribution to forest research and their commitment to regional
cooperation.
To qualify, potential members must:
- Be actively involved in research and science
- Be willing to commit resources to the network
- Work in Africa or work on any issue that falls within the mandate
of the network; and
- Apply for membership
Ex-AAS and IFS grantees are especially eligible
The board may ad other categories of membership as the need arises.
Right and privileges of members
Members are privileged to apply for research grants, and have access
to network facilities. Members should comply with the rules and obligations
of the Network
Admission to membership
All nominations or applications for membership shall be submitted
to the Network Board for approval
Termination of membership
Any member may resign from the network by informing the Network Board
or Nodal Coordinator. The Network Board can also terminate members
when it deems such action as serving the interest of the network
